The Mujahideen were a mixed bag some of them went on to form the Northern Alliance to fight the the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
The problem when you arm radical groups like that is basic in its logic: Radical groups attract radical minds and as history has shown us radical groups always have a tendency to fragment into smaller off shoots that fight each other.
