But to answer your question, I am indeed A-Okay with that perception, because as off-putting as this place may be to the uninitiated who're used to overly sanitized, censor-happy safe spaces for political discussion, the brutal honesty of this place can hardly be described as anything but liberating once you've acclimated to it. And as full of disinformation as this place can be sometimes (and has been increasingly after a certain event related to gaming journalism that I need not mention by name), there are very often grains of truth dropped here which would never, EVER be covered by any MSM outlet as it contradicts the narrative which is currently being pushed.
4chan has and was never intended to be a welcoming place for newcomers, and board culture runs so deep that it's strongly advised that you lurk for a while before posting. However, there are few places on the internet that I can think of which are as simultaneously hilarious and full of uncomfortable truths as this one. 4chan has done more to shape and change my worldview for the better in the past 7 years than any other single thing, as insane as that sounds.
