If my parents wrote some legal contract saying I could throw parties, and the contract had incredibly difficult hoops you have to jump through to change it regardless if I burned the house down, I would still be allowed to have parties. That's why the contract was written in the first place, to secure what rights I am guaranteed, despite what the current political climate wants.
