Socialism is shit and will never work out. Not even if "le whitey" does it. A mixed economy is just hindered growth and will put such a society in a vulnerable position long-term if faced with well-governed capitalist states.

Socialism doesn't necessarily mean the abolishing of private property or any of those things. Socialism would work on a small scale in a small state with a population where everybody was of the same ethnic and cultural background.
If you think about how the US used to be, there were cities that sprang up around major industries. Those businesses made the city what it was and the people who lived there worked for them. And they took care of their workers and their families in what you can call a quasi-socialist way. Within a state that was capitalist. But eventually those jobs were outsourced, the businesses closed, and the cities themselves were devastated. Very few businesses take care of their employees and the surrounding community like that anymore.
Socialism would never work in the US. Even if we were all the same. It's too big.
