In high school, my friends and I used to box like your picture every weekend. We'd have different "cards" each weekend and we'd spend the whole week analyzing and betting on who would win. It eventually got too big to keep having at people's houses so we eventually had to move it various parks and some friends had farms, so we'd do it there. We had general rules and everything.
A lot of the parents knew and allowed/encouraged it to happen. Each week we'd rotate a couple kids to stay stone sober in case someone needed legitimate medical help, etc. We called them "the judges." One would essentially be the ring judge, the others would handle anyone who got out of hand, etc. We never had any problems because, each week, if one of the judges said you were getting too crazy everybody just kind of respected it and calmed down because they were a judge. There was no abuse of power and everybody eventually was a judge.
I even know for a fact a lot of the cops knew about it, but knew our rules and how we handled everything. They let it slide. It eventually got so big, some parents found out about it who shouldn't have found out about it and the town had to shut us down.

You are correct though. It's just that physical labor say on a farm or something is where you are getting "naturally strong". Most people don't do the same kind of pushing, pulling, and lifting at the gym as Farmer Joe is.
I still visit the family farm occasionally and my uncles and other relatives are strong as fuck but not aesthetic at all.
