Can someone elaborate why the sudden drop in Trump support?
I know that there is usually a small spike in support for a candidate once they become their parties nominee, but Clinton really hasn't increased as much, however Trump has just dropped so suddenly.
Is normal? Or are they being selective with the polls?

Now as for the missed opportunities of late I think it's a few things:
1) Trump lacks teh campaign and financing required. He seems more in kiss arse mode than anything. He needs to shore up establishment donor support and expand his operation.
2) operation too small and a lack of an effective PR machine. Trump is still treating this too much like he has treated the media whilst working in property. He needs to invest in building up his team, and it looks like he's doing that now and partially probably waiting until he gets more donations from the RNC.
3) He's intentionally sitting in things as he may believe the polls now are not meaningful. He climbed his way back to around even and the conventions will drown out most of what's been going on. He's best spent focussing on points 1 and 2, build the operation, shore up support, get the money flowing, then after the conventions the media's eyes will fall squarely on him and her, and he can begin dropping bombs.
He completely failed to capitalize on the violence in San Jose and instead made it all about him vs the Mexican judge.
Now the Stanford rape case is taking up the MSM cycle and every one took that bait when all it was is a diversion from what happened in San Jose
