Based Kurds are doing things by the numbers. They consolidated their foothold, secured alternate supply route by fixing the Qara Qawzag bridge and now they're encircling the town before trying to take it to BTFO as many snackbars as possible.

They could also bypass the town in a surprise move and employ their forces in unexpected ways. Such as moving on Al-bab

Depends if it's conventional or more insurgent based like daesh.

>>
>>76604271
Like aussieanon above me said, you're supposed to be flanking. A bunch of men lay down suppressive fire on the enemy while another bunch of men go wide and try to assault them at their sides. This is why "cauldrons" and circling of enemy positions happens in the greater region of battle.

Fire and Movement is the basic tactic since WW2. calls for two elements. One pins down the enemy in position with suppressive fire, while another maneuvers to a flanking or otherwise advantageous position to engage the enemy

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_and_Movement

Not surprisingly most Daesh forces are unable to execute such maneuvers.

Yep this. ISIS basically uses blitzkrieg tactics but without air support. That's why it works very well at first then later falls apart. They rush straight forward quickly.

Instead of air support, they use IED trucks to carve a path forward

Shouldn't you always leave your enemy a route to escape? If his choices are almost certain death/defeat or retreating, what's the likely thing he will do? If he cannot escape he will fight more fiercely and you are likely to have higher casualties, other option would be to have reputation of treating POW's well so that they might consider surrendering.

They have been saying that shit for almost 5 months now.
Why can't the SAA advance at the same velocity as the kurds?
I see kurdshits taken 5-6 villages per day while the SAA captures a hilltop and then 2 days after they lose it.
>>
>>76611371
wat????

Turkey wont really do shit if French and American advisors are on the ground amongst the Kurds, nor would Assad or Putin EVER give Erdocunt an "OK" for bombing with Turkish jets in Syrian airspace.

I think Kurds-held areas and Syrian gov.-held areas are going to have to settle into some awkward peace where they negotiate the form of the future government and America desperately tries to use the Kurds as chess piece to force Assad to step down somehow.

>>76611312

>>
>>76611564
This
>>
>>76611371
First, attack by the SAA would bring YPG-FSA (or what's left of them) back to the table. They may hate the Kurds, but they still hate Assad more. Also, Assad and the SAA is powerful, but a war with the kurds would be costly: The holdouts Hasakah would be gone in the first few days. The US would abandon them any second if they weren't useful, don't get me wrong. But keeping them as allies keeps Russia from bombing them - Russia wouldn't dare to attack them. So the YPG can continue to be a constant thorn in Assad's side.
TheYPG is just too valuable and powerful in Syria to be dropped. Any invasion by Turkey is a pipe dream, btw.

Anybody knows why ISIS suddenly pulls out of Manbij AND northern Aleppo at the same time, without any fight?

Do they relocate to Raqqa, or are they just simply out of menpower?
>>
>>76616468
Step one: after multiple warnings by the UN, US, Russia and Iran, Israel attacks another site outside of its borders in Syria near Tartus once again flying through Lebanese air space claiming it was a caravan of weapons. Lebanon guns down an Israeli plane on the flight back while in Lebanese air space invoking an "Israeli reaction to this atrocity" Israel proceed to threaten the Lebanese border by shows of force and military drills within sight of the border.

Step two: Deteriorating relations with the US allows Russia to make more sovereign decisions. Russia decides to side with Al-Assad because they still recognize him as the president elected by his people. Russia proceeds to help Syria clear out it's rebel scum and set up multiple military bases in Syria and strengthens the Russian naval base in Tartus with 2 Sovremenny-class destroyers. Russia immediately file war crime cases at the UN against multiple multinational mercenary groups. Turkey backs down and restores relations with Syria due to Russian intervention. After the 2013 Lebanon elections a pro Syrian/Hezbollah leaning parliamentary majority is elected which immediately sign a right of passage agreement with Russia allowing them to set up temporary army and air bases to help defend them from "any aggressive country towards any Lebanese actions"

>>76616550
Step three: Israel bombs what they say "...was a Hezbollah military encampment " the "military" base was an actual Lebanese military basic training base. Lebanon is furious Israel bombed their military basic training facility. Iran sends reinforcements to strengthen the Lebanese front under the guise of citizen security.

Step four: Israel sees this as "direct aggression by Iran" and they just so happen to "recover information that Iran is actually building a nuclear weapon and it will be completed within the next month or two". Nothing is done about this yet but many nations in the UN question Israel's sources and means of acquiring this "information" after many deceitful claims from Israel in the recent past. Pakistani and Indian hostile relations escalate into the first fire fight on the border. China steps up its navy production and army recruitment. Also Russia and China sign an exchange of military production information and China officially claim every Japanese disputed territory and land troops on each island. (this is important for later)
>>
>>76616692
Step five: Russia sends more troops to protect their interests in Lebanon and Syria. China sends special security to Iran to protect oil fields and oil wells. Combined US and British forces are redirected to cities on the northern border of Israel. China sends a warning to Israel "not to take action against Iran or there will be a dire consequences." The US sends a similar message to Iran.

Step six: Multiple fire fights break out on the Lebanese/Israeli border between unified Syrian and Lebanese forces and the IDF. It was not clear who fired the first shot with each side blaming the other.US, British, Iranian and Russian troops respectively stay out of the actual battle but some report higher ranking Russians directing some troops. China and Japan have shots fired at each other but no casualties.
>>
>>76616591
>not supporting based Asad
>>
>>76616758
Step seven: US sends marines to Israel's border while attempting to place multiple destroyers in range to shell Syria but are apprehended by a Russian naval blockade deployed from their Tartus naval base in Syria. The destroyers retire to Tel Aviv to avoid a direct US/Russian conflict.

Step eight: Russia declares an unbiased no fly zone over Syria and Lebanon destroying 1 Syrian fighter on the first day and 5 assorted IAF aircraft in the next week. Israel in turn with the backing of the US forces advance on the Lebanese border breaking a week long stalemate because of the no fly zone. (note the US has not officially entered any war at this point. this is merely an executive ordered mission) Israel begins bombarding Syria and Lebanon with tomahawk missiles. Russian forces deploy Pantsir-S1 as a counter measure and succeed in intercepting a majority of the attacks. Japanese forces finally attack China's newly acquired islands and are repelled by Chinese navy and army. Japan calls on ally US to intervene in favor of Japan.
US although apprehensive at first offers to host peace talks between the two countries.

Step nine: Iran, Pakistan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt all apply for membership in the shanghai cooperation organization (SCO) Iraq becomes an observer but does not apply due to pressure from internal US bases. China still awaiting American mediations send ambassadors to strengthen all relations with Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) consulters with experience in alliance building to aid and speed up the formalization of the pact. Turkey cuts its ties with NATO and signs a mutual protection pact with Russia
>>
>>76616861
Side note: Saudi Arabia has been almost non existent because of political confusion. Wanting to support long time business partner US but while also attempting to maintain good relations with its neighbors. Because of this dilemma Saudi Arabia starts centralizing its diplomatic relations and takes a neutral stance towards the recent flaring of events.

Step ten: Pakistan launches an offensive on Nepal and Bangladesh quickly securing all territory and removing the current government. India scrambled to save what it could but Pakistan threatened nuclear aggression on densely populated metropolises on the Indo-Pakistani border.

Step eleven: North Korea (pretty much out of nowhere) prematurely starts a blitzkrieg style assault on South Korea down the eastern coastline taking land all the way down to Daegu within less than a weeks time. Several failed assaults were made on Seoul resulting in South Korea losing close to one third of its land mass and large amounts of civilian casualties and captures.

Step twelve: After several weeks review all SCO applicants were accepted and offered what protection could be afforded by already established members. Almost immediately China deploys troops to Iran to form cooperated bases with Iranian military. China recognizes Pakistan's newly acquired land and sends troops to reinforce against any future Indian retaliation. Egypt is quick to react to the ratification of their newly formed alliance and sends troops to Iraq. Iraqi government orders NATO forces to leave immediately or face a new wave of aggression. Already having the equipment but not the know how Pakistan sends its top nuclear scientists to Iran to begin the manufacture of Iran's first ICBM.

>>76616945

>>
>>76616925
Step thirteen: Between what is now called the "continental shift" and NATOs delayed reaction Japan declares war in china and begins a full fledged assault on all Chinese outlying islands and some major ports resulting in major casualties on both sides.

Step fourteen: NATO and the UNs shock to the dramatic shift in world wide affairs causes a delay due to the magnitude of the situation. Almost a week too late the US begins plans to retake South Korea and send large amounts of troops to Israel, Iraq and Japan. NATO forces move to secure Israel after engagements start involving Russian troops.

Step fifteen: Russia, Syria and Lebanon simultaneously declare war on Israel and counter the US backed Israeli push into Lebanon with an invasion into Israel taking Haifa almost over night and Nazareth within the week. After not complying with Iraqi demands the Iraqi government engage and successfully capture three American military bases. Iraq only deport all captured soldiers to Kuwait to show they only want the US to leave.

Step sixteen: To be continued

Air power and/or indirect fire is the key.

Defenders have to group up to repel offensive moves.

Call in airstrike on position.

Defenders have to break up and diminish firepower or stay concentrated and deal with getting bombed.

Add that to increased difficulties with moving supplies and reinforcements in an area that has high visibility from the air and fighting a conventional war is not IS strength.

Sadly they will go back to bombings and random small scale shock attacks.

Assad is in no position to go looking for more enemies.

He is looking at a future of constant Sunni bombers all over non-Sunni areas of Syria.

Adding Kurd bombers all over the Shia and or Alawite areas of Syria is not a good move.

Would be time to consolidate, expand intelligence gathering, build up enforcement police, and resupply for the inevitable IS terror attacks

> lattakia and eastern aleppo has seized.

Lattakia is fucing solid. They capped Tel Hadadeh which is a strategic hill and block every nusra attempt to break through. Yes they havent capped the one shit town i cant remember the name of. But Salma and Kinsibba cant be retaken, which is all that is needed now,

Eastern aleppo was a succes after Kuweires. At the time there was no point attack Al-Bad or Deir Asafir. Besides the rebels are cut of at nubl which was also the objective.

Meanwhile Palmyra has been taken, the ghouta pockets significantly tightent, Al qataryan taken, Deir is still safe and the qalamoun is still being swept clean. Oh yeah and the tigers are almost at Tabqa and also advances east of palmyra in the direction of Arak

With the resources they have, the SAA are doing great.

Yes they lost khan tuman and al-eis. But why do you think only foreign shia's are there? They still hold Al-Hadher. As long as they do that, they can throw as much militia into the meatgrinder in south aleppo as they can.

Jaysh Al Fateh is conquering small villages and towns and acting if they are raping the SAA. Meanwhile theyre casualties are high and no one gives a fuck except turkroaches and Jihadi fanboys

How does it feel that you people are labeled by 4chan's creator and most of original userbase and moderators as the cancer that is killing 4chan?

Also, why are you so self-righteous that you feel the need to totally ruin the concept of a great website and turn into your own personal chatroom?

I do.

The argument is: Everytime a new thread is created, another thread is pruned.

For every general thread you have in which you have a bunch of namefags turning 4chan into their own chat room clubhouse to talk to about the syrian situation (which doesn't actually happen, you faggots just shitpost in here), we lose space for one on-topic or substantive discussion that would actually be entertaining for the average user.

And im not "meming" pal, this is just codified concepts directly from the creator of 4chan himself, and the original userbase, and if you have your head so far stuck up your ass that you can't come to terms with that, well all i can say is i truly do wish the worst for you, and hope somehow, someway that some divine force will paralyze you people or something so you can no longer ruin 4chan.
>>
>>76619716
As I see it, if kurds take Al-Bab too, Assad can say goodbye to northern Syria, he needs it as a foothold for post-war order or the kurds will be very aggravating. I can totally see them pushing towards it because of that.

But maybe they already have some kind of agreement with the kurds and they will instead try to finally put Aleppo in a nice Kessel. I can't see them pushing at Deyr Hafr, they are already cutting Raqqa-Turkey at Tabqah.

I agree focusing on ISIS for now is a good idea (and beside the offensive in the countryside directly north of Aleppo city, seems to be happening).

Any ISIS territory lost to SDF/YPG may be very difficult to get back because with the French/US embedded special forces and the sorta-neutrality of the Kurds towards Assad, any areas they capture will be sort-of a no-go

>>76622138
The situation is clearly entirely different now..... although yes for now it seems like that area doesnt have any sort of priority

>>76622344
There are 150 threads on /pol/. Clearly the one thats gets bumped off wasnt substantive enough in discussion.

Youre way overcomplicating all this "codified concepts", "divine forces paralyzing people" and "heads so far stuck up your ass" bullshit.

What the fuck kind of drama queen are you? Chill the fuck out.

I won't. If you have the supposed "right" to stay here and shit up my board, i have the right to address my grievances with you all as well.

Board "culture" threads don't correlate to whether or not the aforementioned post is a shitpost or not, friend.

No sir, never been. And i don't see how the opinions i've stated here would ever imply that i am a reddit user. I hate reddit fundamentally, as i hate you /general/ people fundamentally.

And with your "logic", i suppose the creator of 4chan is a closeted redditfag as well.

Eat shit, Germany.
