In my observations, West Coasters are way more leftie and violent than New Englanders are; just look at Trump's CA rallies vs his Lowell, MA or Burlington, VT one for example. And if you think of SF, Portland, Seattle, etc, they're seen as hyper left wing voters, while when you think of Boston, Hartford, Manchester, etc they're more working class union Democrats as opposed to hipster pussies in the West. West coast liberals tend to be very successful people. Many work in tech. Most startup founders are also extremely liberal. Their companies are known as the best to work for and they offer great salaries.
Meanwhile, East Coast liberals are whiners hanging out in a dying part of the world. Many work in government or are hiding out in conservative institutions. They work for others, do not create anything new, and are generally less intelligent.

east coast libs are all about the money and business, the northeast and midwest/rustbelt produce the hardest working people and greatest hustlers in this country bar none. not to say they are without entitlement issues, but outside of cities a lot of places are pure blue collar jobs and everyone has to work for theirs. competition here is notably tougher than on the west coast, especially in the bigger cities. business and money are the joining factors here and money, for whatever purpose, is the ultimate goal here.
