The dollar is going in the short run, even if Trump wins because of what this administration has done, millenials aren't going to be putting money into the economy, and a lot of disposable income for lower-middle and middle income families are going to Obamacare. The stock market has to crash or have several large corrections.

Listen up boys and girls, here is what you do.
You buy a few ounces of Gold, that is 1 or 2 coins, and you buy about 400 ounces of Silver, 400 coins give or take.
This is your baseline, if prices skyrocket that amount of Gold/Silver will be enough to provide for you for at least a few years.
The idea is as follows: Historically, a man who worked a good wage at any point in history, be it Romans,Medieval, Renaissance, or Industrial Revolution would make the equivalent of 1 ounce of silver's worth of pay a day. ( think of a merchant or a skilled craftsman, etc )
So in theory, when silver goes back to it's history value, it will be worth one day's of work in the modern era ( think a value of around 200-300$)
The gold is for when you want to make a large purchase, such as a piece of property or to buy a large, expensive item.
The reason why this benefits you is because it doesn't break the bank ( ~6000 investment ) but it protects your wealth in a very good cost to value ratio in case the worst does happen and the economic system implodes on itself.
I've used this method for my entire family, and then every year if I have extra money set aside I continue to purchase the equivalent of one person's supply of precious metals ( 2 pieces gold/ 400 pieces silver ).
Do not get me wrong, if I had to average what I am doing with the value of my money I would say I am investing probably 8-10% of my total income into this scheme, which is a little bit higher and more aggressive than what others suggest, but I do it more from a layman's terms perspective and less the overall % in relation to my salary.
I hope this information helps you guys, and I honestly hope it never, ever happens in our lifetimes, but unfortunately any student of history can see the writing on the wall and it reads "ita fit"
