Some local cops started targeting the boy and his friends because they were smoking personal amounts of weed. One day without probable cause or the boy's consent to be searched an officer stopped him on the way to his car, searched his pockets, found a baggie of weed, and booked him.
The boy's father found out about it and being a cop himself, realised it was total bullshit (little thing called the Fourth Amendment look it up), and called the police department and threatened to file a complaint against the officer.
As retaliation the events in the video occured. The officer shown claims that he pulled him over because the vehicle was driving had open warrants - this was later found to be false. He then later claimed that he "smelled marijuana".
