>mfw just took my Level 1 CFA on Saturday
>>76476291
It went that badly?
>>76476440
Not really, but I developed a severe headache (almost migraine level) about 1/3 of the way through the second 3 hour session, so that kinda fucked my shit up.

>CPA
anyone who is a jew or chinese
If you are an accountant then you are a dirty kike, no arguments no buts. Literally goy-kike profession
>oy vey mr can I count your shekels for you please
>>76476291
How do I learn this stuff and finance without going to college?
Finished Calculus 1,2, and 4 by the way.
>>76476653
People in my firm (Deloitte) around my age take either the CPA or CFA. I've seen the material for the CFA and it looks a lot harder than CPA stuff. Good luck, I was never that good at finance.
>>76476901
>tfw interning at the IRS next summer
>literally going to take my fellow goy's hard earned money
I'm embracing the financial Jew, and I love it.

You've got to spend a TON of time if you want to self-teach this stuff. I don't really know where to tell you to begin desu senpaitachi. I did my undergrad at a top 5 business school, and I still had to study a LOT for this exam. Level 2 and 3 are magnitudes more insane.
Start learning about statistics, accounting, financial statement analysis, corporate finance, fixed income, derivatives, alternative investments, equity securities, etc.
>>76476978
Yeah, I work in IB. One of the guys at my firm sat for the CPA and said the CFA is much harder.
>>76477870
Thank you anon
Have some solid dick
>>76477870
Do you have a course requirement list that you can narrow down for me?
I'd like to buy/download the necessary books and start studying.
There isn't a class called derivatives or equity securities is there? What classes were those subjects learned in?
>>76478389
I'm not sure I could give you a reliable specific course requirement list due to the fact that a lot of topics are covered in multiple courses (or at least they were over the course of my college career).
Here's a link to the comprehensive list of topics covered on the Level 1 exam:
https://www.cfainstitute.org/programs/cfaprogram/courseofstudy/Pages/cbok.aspx
I would also recommend the Schweser notes for studying for the exam:

Thank you.
Also, How did you do so well in school?
Were you in a frat?
Adderall/Ritalin?
>>76479462
No prob.
I didn't do nearly as well as I could've (had a 4.0 for two years, then started partying quite a bit and ended up graduating with a 3.6~) if I wasn't such a massive procrastinator. I probably owe much of my successive thus far to my memory abilities and the intelligence inherited from my parents.
I wasn't in a frat. Adderall definitely helps at times; it will turn you into a zombie if you take it for too long, though.
Good luck with everything.

success*
time for bed haha
>undergraduate dual majoring in business and accounting
>don't feel prepared for either despite graduating next year
>hate the idea of loans so I don't want to get my masters (full scholarship for undergrad)
>don't want to go into the workforce because i feel like i'm 10 miles behind everybody else despite high gpa and acing accounting classes
>turned down for FBI internship this summer
feels suicidal man
i know fuck-all aside from credits and debits and i still can't even remember all the accounts

What are you, poor?
>>76476901
They are literally the people that keep da jews in check by making sure they aren't stealing sheckles through asinine loopholes or more obvious ways. Be more retarded.
>>76475968
My gf took the CPA. It was literally more labor intensive and probably harder than the MCAT I took. It took her 3 months of straight studying and then 4 separate tests scheduled at least a month apart. CPA exam is no joke bros.
>>76480169
Thanks bro.
Much love.
>>76476912
Start with basic financial accounting. This is what most schools have Finance students start with. It's easier than Calculus but very different. Just learning how to read and analyze financial statements is a great start
>>76475968
Fuck, I would erase that fucking board and re-write that shit. I can't STAND professors with shitty handwriting.
>>76475968
This made me watch his videos. Am I an autist?
>>76480478
Listen to me. Your job will teach you what you need to know.
You're going to forget most of what you learned at school, even while working in the field of your major.
GET YOUR FUCKING MASTERS NOW AT THE BEST SCHOOL YOU CAN !!!!!!!
I can guarantee you that your loans will pay for themselves ten-fold during your lifetime.
>>76481090
is NC State good enough? i got interested in their program through connections but now it's 20k
when should I get my CPA? right after my masters?
>>76481234
I'm doing my CPA during my masters. I only have one section left. If your GPA is as good as it sounds some schools will pay for your masters, like they did for me.
just wondering since I haven't done a ton of research
I'm currently at community college, going to transfer to a nearby university in southern california for a major in accounting.
then I take the CPA exam? or do I get my masters first?
>>76480478
That's literally what college is. You don't actually come out raring to get a job, you still get a lot of ojt and mentoring.
>>76481234
Yes and yes.
Masters will help you strengthen the base material you aren't confident in yet. You're job will be nothing like school. Get your masters while your knowledge hasn't atrophied too much, and your school skills are there.
You're not studying bullshit. You're studying a valuable (read profitable) skill.

Watch youtube videos by psychologists about successful studying, so you don't waste hours learning nothing.
Get your hands on concerta.
Go to office hours and kiss your professors asses.
Live in the library. Don't go home even if you have explosive diarrhea.
Study guides with the answers taught me more than any of my professors did. Self testing yourself with homework is the best way to know if you understand the material. Just don't cheat yourself.
You should know what to do almost immediately after reading a question.
>>76481911
Also, don't study the assigned books.
Study your teachers' class notes, and assignments/homework.
