What would America look like today if we never had slaves? How would it have had an impact on the economy?
>>
the difference would be marginal
inb4 >hurr durr america was built on cotton
america would still have all it's cotton and tobacco you idiot the people picking it would have only been paid white americans which in turn would have boosted other economies with their salaries
>>
Well if Lincoln had lived they'd all be in Liberia.
If there was no slavery there would be alot less Irish.

The differecne would be little since like 10% of americans actually owned slaves.

They'd be kangz and quanz in Namibia
>>
Imagine no niggers. Just whites and mestizos.

We would have a much lower crime rate.

Australia x 10

Ever seen that show "Star Trek"? Like that, but without the niggers.

South would be better off. Instead of using slave labor they'd invest into mechanization or pay workers, which would have a positive effect.
Slavery is an idiotic institution.

Mexico would be a lot bigger, Texas and Florida would probably not be part of the US at all. At most, America would be the original 1783 territories plus the Louisiana Purchase.

>more expensive labor increases total product

You need to learn more about economics, friend. Stop believing the Keynesian meme.
>>
>>76455613
Fun fact: The total invested value in slaves carried as assets in 1850 was higher than the total value of all US money in circulation. The intensity of development across the South would be far less if that had been wage expenditure instead of capitalized human assets. Also far less pressure for expansion to the southwest.

Less. Try 1%. At most.

You got to remember, slaves were expensive - care and upkeep especially. You didn't buy them to beat them to death for not picking cotton fast enough. They were an investment.
