We don't want to buy gas from Russia because Russia makes extensive use from the fact that they're our primary supplier and turned it into a monopoly where we (a poor as fuck country) pay more for the same amount of gas than vastly richer western countries.
Thus we wanted to shill Americans and Middle Easterners into building pipelines to create competition for Russian supplier so the problem would solve itself.
If the reimported gas from the kike middlemen were cheaper than buying direct from Russia than sure as fuck we'd buy it.

Poland is second biggest buyer of Russian energocarriers in Europe. We pay around 20 bln dollar for their gas and oil every year.
For comparison, do you guys remember how Kremlin was loud about "hyper-gas-contract" with China and how Putin boasted that Russia "replaces Europe" with it?
It was 30 years contract of value 400 bln dollar (13 bln dollar per year).
