Gyms are expensive ,I personally go to a boxing gym because training whether in mma or boxing anything combat you're going to get the intense work out your body needs to slim down . Typical gyms like golds or planet fitness aren't that expensive because they're franchises but they limit you using machines and few free weights and you need more to work with . I'm probably making it sound like working out is more of a hassle than it really is , it's not .
Healthy foods are expensive and it's really worse if you don't live near farm lands with maybe a exception to California , LA specifically there are a lot of Mexican farmers and farmers in general that sell fruits and greens in bulk for cheap but not everyone has that Liberty

It has more protein than nuts with something like 70% less fat. If you're lacking fat, go with nuts or avocados.
If meat is what you're after, chicken. With the skin is always cheaper, but again you have to take fat into consideration. If you need fat, leave the skin on. If you don't, take it off AFTER cooking so it absorbs the fat from the meat.
