In Spain there are now four parties in the game: the center-right, the center-left, extreme-left and center. The center-right is going to receive the most votes and it all looks like extreme-left will end up 2nd. Since center-left is going to be the 3rd party, it's all up to them: if they side with extreme-left in a 100% cuck move then Spain goes the way of Venezuela; if they instead decide not to vote on the new prime minister, then center-right wins, which some see as a bad thing because that means center-left is surrendering to their traditional center-right enemies. Lived in Madrid in 2011/2012. Noticed a lot of sympathy for far left fringe groups among normal-ish people I interacted with. Same story whenever there was a general strike on - unabashed and unashamed support for communist parties judging by the banners in the crowds.
I chalked it up to Franco and the Civil War making communist/leftist views anti-establishment, rebellious etc and therefore "cool". Conversely, I pondered if the reverse is true in ex-communist countries where conservative social views and liberal economic views are prevalent. Am I far off?

First off Pinochet is based.
But Franco was better. He was an opportunist that seized power as soon as he smelled weakness and he "betrayed" the phalanx.
But his rule was literally the best you can imagine in Spain. Contrary to other fuckers like Mao or Ceausescu, he knew very well what he was good at : violence. So he concentrated on it and did a very good job at commie removal. Meanwhile he let the Opus Dei guys run the country, which they did brilliantly. Spain over the years 45-75 was more (not equal, more) of a success story than Germany or Japan. He personally mostly did diplomacy, army stuff and killing a few subversive elements (which is blown out of proportion, after the war ended he only killed a few thousands people over 35 years yet people treat it as similar to Pol Pot butchering 2 million people in 3 years in a country much less populated, because there is no double standards in judging non-socialist dictators).
