IQ is interesting, but it's not the be all end all of genetic comparison. It does not attempt to fathom the racial hive mind.
A better metric for intelligence rating is the civilizations various peoples create. In that respect, no race can compare with the Indo-Europeans. Semites and maybe Chinese are a distant second to them.

He was saying that Blacks should be shunted away from college programs they cannot hope to understand unless college gets dumbed down (it has, in the years since). He was saying Blacks should be shunted to vocational programs like bricklaying.

Yes, but he was trying to make the point that IQ has common predictive capacity among all races. It's only at the very end that he talks about racial disparities, and how the consequences of different average distributions express in society. The point I'm making is that many people who haven't read the book think it's a treatise on racial difference, when it was written to FIRST show people that IQ is a valid social indicator. THAT wasn't even accepted at the time--and still isn't for many people. We can't even talk about race yet, because most people still don't even accept the validity of IQ. People are getting ahead of themselves. The book was trying to lay groundwork to sort of ease people into the concept from the back door. TBC is not THE book on racial IQ differences. It was never meant to be.

That's actually a very bad example to use. Standardized math exams are de facto IQ tests as much as a verbal test. IF someone can ace a math exam, but can't write, it's almost certainly an education problem, not an intelligence problem. If he had diagnosed dyslexia, or simply poor reading skills, Detroit schools would have not taught him English reading or writing.

The truth of the matter is the human IQ has advanced regardless of genes. Flynn effect is the biggest elephant in the room. Even if we suppose that genes are the only factor in controlling IQ (which it isn't, see above), the selection of mates is hardly random.
If for some reason smart black men tends to do the ooga booga with a dumb female, it's because the dumb female is somehow appealing to him more so than the smart female. It's not "essentially random", it's never been "essentially random".
