First of all - stop thinking about uniforms they are at the stage that would take you years to accomplish. Now you need a symbol. Something like a patriotic symbol (like flag) that could unite as much of you as you can gather. Second of all use normal people. Children, families to show that you are not a military or fascist organisation. That would make police provocations harder. I could probable write a book about this but I guess It would be too late.

Second of all you need some ideological anchors to build from them. You have constitution and you have your respect for military and police. You don't have very long history as a country, but you could use some of the things from it. Build on success and on failures and use them to inspire. That's the weakness of the lefties.
