VPN's are pointless if you're using Windows or Mac (or Android), and probably most Linux distros.
And most VPN's would cave if you ever did anything that got the attention of the feds, which is why they all make you agree to the terms which usually have some clause about how they'll turn your ass over if their ass is on the line.
Maybe if you pay with a crypto that's hard to track, and maybe if the VPN is in some jurisdiction that will tell the Western powers to fuck themselves, but most of the major touted VPN's are in Europe or wherever, which is kind of a joke since I'm sure they will turn your ass over for saying gas the Jews as soon as EU enforcement is banging on their door.
The only reason I bother with a VPN is so my corporate network can't see my traffic, or when I'm on public wifi networks.

Free ones never work here, they're all banned. Most of the popular VPN providers that are paid also have their IP ranges banned here, but can be bypassed with the 4chan pass sometimes (sometimes they're still banned because someone who had the service got bored and spammed nigger cocks everywhere).
I used to shitpost as Big Boss with the Seychelles flag, but then my VPN dropped that server, probably because convicts overran the datacenter in Seychelles.
