A president is not a King. The biggest decision the next president will make is who will take one or two Supreme Court seats, which could affect the outcome of future cases. The court has been drifting progressively leftward since Obama took office so a small correction back to the right wouldn't be catastrophic.
Worst case scenario, people hate him and he's out in 4 years. Or he could royally fuck up and get impeached and be out sooner than that. A president surrounds himself with advisors and doesn't actually make too many big decisions.
