All kinds of shit is possible on the show's home turf - a black Phantom, a black Javert - but as soon as it goes touring, they go for the actors most unlikely to hurt tickets sales given how expensive touring full productions is.
Especially when your play is two fucking parts and thus immediately requires double the usual sales. I'm a casual Harry Potter fan and this offends me.
