National Socialism was based on Germanic/Nordic racialism, socialist economics and cultural Hellenism.
Before Stalin Soviet Russia was a Marxist hell hole. Stalin championed socialism on one country over international socialism, liquidated the initial Jewish Marxists, had a conservative revival giving Russia one of the best education systems and encouraging the nuclear family- the population had been in decline after attempted Trotskyite "sexual liberation." Hell, the guy dissolved the third international, he must have hated Marxists at least as much as Hitler to oppose its supporters so much, replacing it with Stalinism.
Pre-Stalin Russia was cruel but a piddly failure, Stalin's Russia was a nuclear hyper power which achieved unthinkable goals, at the cost of cruelty to some.

Stalin's Russia achevied total economic mobilisation before WW2 during the 5 year plans this was a key aspect of Stalinism. Hitler only ever put Germany on a war economy, and only achieved true mobilisation of Germany towards the end of the war. His reluctance to mobilise Germany like Stalin did perhaps shows Hitler wasn't too big on the idea, if not in a state of war Nazi Germany likely wouldn't be anywhere nearly as totalitarian as Stalin's Russia.
Communists took everything from the rich. Nazis let the rich keep everything and made them even richer with slave labor.
