he got nation of islam and maclom x on his side, because he preached that blacks deserve a land of their own in america, or a peaceful return to africa that the american government sets up for them, the blacks actually really respected him for this, because while there was a mutual hatred, there was a mutual respect that both groups just want the best for their people

Heard some of his speeches. I liked them. I think if he had been doing what he was doing in the 20's/30's instead of the 60's then he may well have had a profound impact.
