What really stinks about this story is that they've defended the excessive migration and open borders for a very long time. Why would they have done that if it was immediately evident that it was a mistake? Infact this excuse makes them sound like utter pricks because they're essentially saying they created a massive crisis simply because they didn't want to admit they'd been wrong.
For that matter, why was the decision made "OPEN THE BORDER" rather than a more reasonable "ok, we'll take those 1000 guys in" or even "... wait, Hungary can't even take 1000 people?" This whole story is a crock of shit, on par with "the dog ate my homework".
