It's not a matter of "supporting" it; they already do. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked out that well for them, perhaps due to the general lack of impulse control.
The simple sociological fact is that urban blacks + firearms = incredibly high murder rates. The only way NYC was able to bring down its murder rate was by aggressively locking up blacks with illegally-carried firearms. No other plans worked.
The whole "armed society is a polite society" thing applies to Europeans, for whom future planning and contemplation tends to be a part of life. That doesn't actually work when you are arming emotional children who get murderously mad at being "dissed" or any number of other things.

Let me explain to you the mistake you are making here - you are dividing ghetto people into "good" and "bad" ones. If only the "bad" ones were taken out, you think, the "good" ones would come to predominate, and there would be peace in the land.
Wrong. Nope. That's not how it works.
"Good" and "bad" are more like very loose sliding scales in those areas. A "good" person might simply lose his shit one day because he gets really mad, and fire into a crowd in which there are people who wronged him.
Afterwards, he might even regret it immensely, and might not behave like that again for a long time, but it still happened, because he lacked the requisite self-control to stop himself at that moment.
I'd say about 80-85% of ghetto males are capable of this sort of thing given the "right" circumstances.
