Some cultures, often extra tanned ones, have family structures where a child's parents are his/her mother and her brothers - the father is not involved and nobody probably knows who he is. Honestly, this sounds sort of shit, but I'd prefer it to the feminist model where everyone is collectively responsible for everyone's children. Life under a patriarchy works for women because men care more about women than about themselves. That's why in a patriarchal society we're more violent towards men, our justice system treats men worse, our government spends more on women's programs, etc.
That wouldn't work in reverse, because women don't feel the same way about men. A matriarchy wouldn't protect and pamper men the way the patriarchy treats women like princesses. Look at Hillary. Under the patriarchy, women get special treatment in the justice system (aka pussypass).
