Individual taxes are too high here, and the brackets/rates are fucked in a way the penalises the middle class way too hard. I'd drop the individual rates across the board but mostly in the 48-70k bracket, bump up the brackets themselves, and cover the cost by instituting comprehensive capital gains tax (which would also help our fucked housing market) and closing tax loopholes.
Flat tax rates. As far as I'm concerned, everybody should have an equal stake in the financial decisions a government makes, and nobody should be penalised for advancing their career and earning more. I'm not wealthy at all, and have no love for parasitical upper classes, but a flat tax rate is undeniably objectively fair, excluding any other factors.
