I love /pol/. It's been a second home to me for almost two years (yeah, I guess I'm a newfag, whatever). But in those two years I have become a mess. A huge mess. Most of that is unrelated to /pol/, but I think /pol/ has helped. I want to ask whether any of you have ever escaped the sinkhole of /pol/ and its hatred? And specifically, what other boards do you browse? Are there any other boards where you can get the same anonymous sense of community, the same camaraderie, with maybe a bit less of the rage, depression and (ideally) porn spam threads?

P.s. Does caffeine shampoo really work? (see x number of 'what do we do about the balding epidemic among young men' threads)

Once you're here you're here forever.

Well, if this proves to be the only reply, I suppose that is a poignant and fitting rebuke of my hopes to somehow change.

No one has ever escaped. No one.

You're here forever.

Now, with that said I like to check out /ck/ for ideas. Maybe that'll help?
>>
>>75846821
/ck/ doesn't sound like a bad idea, thanks for the tip. I guess having no interests besides politics doesn't really help me much, but /his/ and /b/ seem the only remotely /pol/-esque boards and neither of them is... terribly homely.

I'm about to lose my job so /pol/ is going to be my only home hahahahaha I'm kidding, I won't have internet.

You never quite get away from this place.
You will always have that voice nagging at the back of your head that you cannot trust the government or the media or corporations, no matter how normalized you become.

That's not to say you can't get back to normal. Stay away from this place for a month or two, it'll do you good. Living in a state of perpetual outrage is bad for your health.
>>
>>75846994

I find it helps to try and get an interest that isn't even tangentially related.

Check out /fit/. Get into shape, try a sport that floats your boat. This can be lifting, this can be fighting, hell, it can be fucking yoga. But there's something deeply meditative about pushing your body.

Just keep off the roids.
>>
>>75846393
You never leave /pol/, even when you leave this board /pol/ will still be there inside you.
>>
>>75847183
I'm very sorry, if that's true. I hope things look up for you soon, with or without /pol/. Good luck (and consider moving here before we Brexit in 3 weeks time).

>living in a state of perpetual outrage is bad for your health

Perfectly worded. This is how I feel and it's ended up costing me a lot of friendships. Christ, I've even become deeply mistrusting of friends almost solely on the basis that their grandparents were (( ))s.
>>
>>75847238

But that's how I've always been...people are fucking retarded and deserve scorn.
>>

I appreciate your kind words. Tried to move somewhere else in the past through the Eures but failed everytime.

I too have a long list of failures behind me. Even my body seems to have been set on the path to failure from before I was 20. Yet, I do not know you, and I feel confident on your behalf that you can succeed. You already speak at least two languages, which as a typically ignorant Brit, is always very impressive to me. And you've had a job! Which as an atypically unemployed degenerate, is also very impressive to me. I'm sure there are many other strings to your bow. So I do feel confident that you CAN succeed. I examine my own life and see failure, perhaps you feel similarly about yours. But sometimes an outside perspective can see the success that could occur better than we ourselves can. Anyway, sorry for spamming you. Best wishes again.

/fit/ is the best board on 4Chan

seriously it has great memes ...give it a try and its somewhat motivational .. i mean at least for 4Chan standards

learn something about nutrition, your body and mind and start lifting .. it will help you
>>
>>75846722

Yep you are fucked. You can power though it and allow it to desensitize you.

For me it started with accepting we are all fucked and there is nothing we can do.

It's helplessness that can drive you mad.

Accepting your fate though is strangely calming.

No man, being able to reach out to other people alike from another countries is the best thing that /pol/ has and I thank you for being supportive, sounds silly but it means a lot.

My best wishes to you too.

I browse fit and lift.
I escaped the hatred of /pol/ as I fell in love with an Indian girl which gave me slightly less psychotic views on race, although I'd still get called a racist if people knew what I believed.
I blocked /pol/ and news websites on my home PC which limits my shitposting time to a few minutes a day on lunch at work.

Honestly, avoiding the news and media in general will reduce stress so much.

Just don't look for reasons to be unhappy.

Also as for the baldness, if it could be effectively treated Prince William would not be bald. Just shave your head and get jacked.

>Once you're here you're here forever.

He can still migrate to another board.
The addiction can be satisfied by any of the faster boards.
>>
The only way out is by finding another social community IRL.

The longer you browse the chons, the more you start to think and act life the people here, you become ONE OF US.

It's more difficult the longer you're here. Just start slowly. Don't sperg out. Resist spewing memes and laughing at banepost phrases.

One does not simply "leave 4chan."
