I disagree. As POTUS a Libertarian would have a huge impact, much moreso than in any other branch. In congress all you can do is vote on shit and introduce legislation. One vote amongt hundreds, can't do anything to stop the torrent of bullshit laws made by statist GOP and Dems. You could filibuster which is ultimately pointless. You could introduce legislation, but won't get much support from the GOP and Dems you filibustered and voted against.
A Libertarian as President on the other hand wouldn't have to vote or filibuster- just veto the fuck out of things. Gary Johnson was a veritable vetoing machine as Governor- 750 bills, more than all other 49 governors in that time combined. Both Trump and Hillary will let a lot of bullshit laws pass. A libertarian president wouldn't exercise much executive power with executive orders, but could repeal prior orders and dissolve agencies like the NSA made by executive orders. It would also be a 4 year relief from overreaching executive orders that both Dems and GOP presidents are guilty of.
Lastly, running for POTUS educates people. Libertarianism unlike other political parties is heavily based on principles and ideas that don't change. Whenever these get exposure and are introduced to new people, some of them will start researching and learning about them and have major changes in their political philosophy. I personally went through this transformation in my 20s after being a moderate my whole life. It changed me forever. But sudden overnight cult of personality type movements like Trump's will disappear just as quickly as they arose. No one will take any new ideas from them. Libertarian ideas, which trace back thousands of years and are inherent parts of our nature and empirically validated, are the most powerful political weapon of all.

Nothing Trump has proposed is "economy ruining," so cut the hyperbole.
As it stands, it doesn't matter what our economic policy is like if the country is being invaded. Immigration is the most pressing issue facing America. It threatens to dilute and fundamentally change America. Furthermore, even when the GOP betrays their values and tries to bring Hispanics on board, they continue to vote Dem.
