>University suspends Safe Schools co-founder Roz Ward over Facebook post

>Last week, Ms Ward posted a picture of the rainbow flag to her Facebook account along with the words "Now we just need to get rid of the racist Australian flag on top of state parliament and get a red one up there and my work is done".

Good shit. Fuck these commie fucks in education trying to indoctrinate children into their ideology. This country seems to be shaking off the PC virus pretty well.

So its not free speech unless we do it?

She should be discredited, even hated but free speech is more importent than some faggot communist loosing her shitty job.

It is well past time that the govv ernment cracked down on universities indulging in this sort of bullshit.

Tiem to say if they want federal funding they need to have a "no silly lefty stuff" policy in their hiring , research and curriculum.

I don't care if it is viewed as "political interference" or some bullshit like that. IF they didn't want to be interfered with they should have made more sensible decisions that kept a lid on this sort of shit.

Parties:

Major:
Liberal + Nationals coalition
Labor

Legends:
Katters Australian
Family first
One nation

I haz the autism:
Greens
Liberal democrats

Single Issue:
Shooters & fishers

All other parties are irrelevant as fuck and you should feel bad for thinking otherwise.

/pol/ voting method:
House of reps: Preference your favorite minor parties first then finish up with your choice of major party.
Senate: Having independent or minor party senators is desired to force negotiation and prevent government from passing anything it likes unchecked.
Having a variety of senators will prevent a consolidation of the balance of power. You should get informed of the candidates in your area. You may preference one choice above the line or six.

The deadline for voter registration has passed.

TAKE A PEN WITH YOU TO VOTE.

You've got the method for writing up the House of Reps ballot somewhat incorrect. It should be more like this:

>Parties you like
>Liberal Coalition
>Irrelevant parties/Independents
>Labor
>Greens

You have to write a number for every party on the ballot, so you can't finish up with your preferred major party.

Also, leave major parties out of your Senate preferences.

-Hate speech laws: they want to expand the scope of these dramatically, all because of feeling. literally 'muh feelings'

It would be nice if there was an established nuclear industry. But there isn't any. The set-up costs, the operational costs, the time it takes to train and get expertise over here is not worth it. You might as well speed that money, time and effort on renewables, like solar and decentralised grid systems.

> They want to bring in an absurd number of refugees
No they don't. Read their website. They want to increase the number of people to be CONSIDERED for refugee status from 13k to 50k per year. Doesn't mean these people will get in. Also, those numbers are piss in the ocean. Also, this whole fucking country was built by migrants, don't forget that.

>It's not worth spending money on Nuclear

>It's worth spending money on Green Solutions (there are none) while still using carbon fuel

Makes literally no sense. Also genuinely surprised to see The Greens of all people opposed to nuclear power in Australia, probably the best continent on Earth for it to be utilized. I guess that's just a Trigger Word for them.

>They want to increase the number of people to be CONSIDERED for refugee status from 13k to 50k per year.

13k is already too high.

>Also, this whole fucking country was built by migrants, don't forget that.

Don't forget an absolutely irrelevant fact? Okay.

(not to mention that it's a half truth at best).

>You will still get them and be able to use them. Who gives a fuck?

I'm not really into guns, but if you read the Greens platform on Gun Rights they pretty much don't want to have any (which, if you were into guns, would be a big deal).

The Greens are an extreme left party with heavy marxist influence. This isn't even a debate on opinion. It's a literal objective fact.

I think Labor really dropped the ball in regards to the Greens. Allow the Greens to swallow up the leftist/cultural left vote - and return to their trade union roots.

I guess they can't. Howard kind of killed that.

I personally know people working for BOM who would disagree with your nonsense. They actually collect data on the subject and also number crunch data collected by others around the world. They say very different thiogs.

> Yeah but they are inefficient and ineffective at powering Australia.
Again, nonsense. Australia is the best position on the globe to harvest solar. Investing in a solar industry would not only create jobs, but also help our reliance on coal. Solar farms, coupled with panels on private properties, and battery tech will help a great deal. And best of all, we will get photons indefinitely.

Science points to a lot of things the Greens dislike.

Like the viability of Nuclear power as a viable cleaner energy solution.

Global Warming might be real (I mean, this shouldn't really be a "might" since we have the data to indicate it is). Whether this is a problem that needs to be solved, CAN be solved, can be solved by AUSTRALIA and HOW you would do it is a giant clusterfuck. And the solutions The Greens offer up are as retarded as the solutions Labor offered up.

It's also putting the cart a few thousand kilometers ahead of the horse, since there are immediate environmental steps that can and should be taken now that we know will have a positive impact.

Like switching to Nuclear Energy muh famalamadingdong.

We're also in the best position in the world to go nuclear.

Solar farms alone can't meet our demands. A combination of solar, hydro where it can be accessed and nuclear could be a successful solution to greatly reduce our reliance on old world fuel sources.

Except when it comes to transport. Even then, limiting petroleum use to it's bare necessities would be wise because of all the other applications we need to use it for, other than smashing the KFC drive through.

I don't claim to hold sway in talking about climate change, just that there are experts that disagree with the proposed theory adopted by groups such as the greens.

>Again, nonsense. Australia is the best position on the globe to harvest solar. Investing in a solar industry would not only create jobs, but also help our reliance on coal. That's a pipe dream. To reiterate, those energy alternatives are hugely inefficient and ineffective. If you believe climate change is a threat to earth, why are costs suddenly an issue?
>>
>>75846713
>We're also in the best position in the world to go nuclear.
No. Nuclear countries literally have over half a century of nuclear industry, tech, economy and expertise behind them, not to mention a large enough population to keep those projects economically viable. Australia has none of that, Going that route would be absolutely a red herring.

Because we are at a point of inflection where manufacturing panels is cheap enough to be economically viable. The price has been pretty much steadily decreasing, meanwhile efficiency is going up. In the future they will be so ridiculously cheap, that even if they are not optimal, you can easily install a fuck ton of them and still win.

We also have the 2nd largest amount of uranium reserves in the world after Canada and have a ridiculously large amount of non-arable large in which to store nuclear waste. BHP already mines uranium from Olympic Dam, which is the largest uranium deposit in the world.

If the government decided to go nuclear, we'd pretty much be the ideal location for it. It is true that there would be considerable start up and training costs, but the same would apply for solar. Beside we could get more curries in on 425 visas or whatever they're called cause India is cheap as hell and already do nuclear.
>>
>>75847179
> we don't suffer natural disasters
Yeah we do. But that's a moot point. No point having those programs if we will run them at a loss. Also don't forget, that we will continue paying for it finacially long after they are shut down. Mitigating radio active waste is not cheap and will go on for decades, and centuries even. Many nuclear countries are struggling with waste, because they don't know what to do with it.

Thorium reactors could be potentially interesting from waste disposal point of view, but they are nothing more than a fantasy at this time.

We have the raw material on tap and the most geologically stable continent on Earth AND we already handle half the worlds nuclear garbage and have the spare space for it.

Again;

>Spend billions building nuclear infrastructure that works

>Spend billions building solar farms that kinda work with a lot of extra input and work arounds asked of the general Australian population who have trouble differentiating between the bin with the red lid and the bin with the yellow lid

Also, as another anon said above, if you're actually worried about the environment, and willing to drop billions on saving it, why does it matter if we spend money on nuclear? Especially since there are other countries that have already built and managed systems that we can copy, unlike solar power on the scale your suggesting, which has never been done before?

A lot of the stuff your talking about is stuff to put money into RESEARCHING, but doesn't exist yet.

You can easily switch to Nuclear and still research alternative renewable means in the meantime. You can also run mixed energy economies.

I think the most important aspect is to get off coal in terms of the environment, and get off petroleum in geo-political terms AND to conserve it uses other than energy.

>We also have the 2nd largest amount of uranium reserves in the world after Canada and have a ridiculously large amount of non-arable large in which to store nuclear waste
Do you know what it takes to convert Uranium ore to fissile grade material? It takes a bit more than just digging up shit and shovelling it into the reactor. Again, nuclear states have an entire supporting industry that is capable of doing that. We don't. Building a reactor alone is not enough to get the ball rolling.

>>

That is correct, and do you know know what it takes to convert coal into ideally combustible powder actually used in power plants? It takes a bit more than digging that shit up and tossing it into a fire. Half of each bloody plant is full of huge drums packed with steel balls the size of a shotput that are used to grind the coal into a ridiculously fine powder, which is incredibly inefficient, time and power consuming. Converting uranium into fissile material is also difficult but requires difficult infrastructure.

You're arguing with circular causality, saying the reason we don't have nuclear power is because we don't have the industry to support it, then saying because we don't have the industry then we shouldn't bother developing nuclear power. Bit of a moot point there m8

A democratic system rewards unified ideas and when the ideas of every westerner is at odds while the ideas of every Muslim are unified the return of theology is certain.

Hard left marxist parasite whose job was to indoctrinate school children into the wonderful world of speech crime, no longer gets to suckle on the teat of the state. Boo hoo... Plus he kind of looks like a chick if you ask me...

31,000 who just signed a document. Its still a large number of people. Besides, amount of people =/= being correct, just ask Galileo about the popularity of his earth revolves around the sun theory :^)

>Economy drives everything. If people are willing to pay, someone is willing to sell. Doesn't matter how good or bad something is.
Its irrelevant to the overall point, people aren't going to pay money for inefficient alternative power

Lel, a guy a few days ago thought the same thing as you. Doesn't matter if you know how to fight as long as you're big, right?

There are tons of videos like this.

>To a certain extent. I think hating foreigners for the sake of hating is just out right dumb. I judge people how they treat me, i don't care what their background is. You're equally a piece of shit to me of you're white or a Muslim if you are a cunt. I think modern feminism is trash.I support basic human rights. I think people should be given a fair go, and if they are proven to be worthy of something, then reward them, doesn't matter what colour or sex.

If you bring in more people then your country produce people will become agitated and your country will suffer. Not to mention certain cultures never integrate well hence why there's such a thing as China towns or Arab no go zones in cities with large immigration.

People will always have US vs THEM attitude and you cannot get rid of that it's biological and ingrained in the Human mind. What about our homeless why accept refugees when we got people under our bridges right now

What about our rural farmers in the milk wars?
Why accept more people who rob and cause disturbance on a far greater scale then help the Farmers out?

Your also applying the "fair go" like it was another hard working Aussie bloke instead of an Arab who's a radical Muslim or a Chinese man and his eight children

>Fuck christianty along will all the other religions. Modern civilisation was built because science found a way to tear itself away from medieval religions.

Although Christianity has had a bad beginning it is a force of good in the world and even in it's "dark ages" was still a much better alternative to modern Islam or whatever else. Your also chucking away the hundreds of years worth of culture Christianity has given us

Just look at Richard Dawkins the atheist "pope". He regrets picking on Christianity so much since it was a wall against Islam.

Are you talking House of Representatives or Senate?

Greenyfag cleary doesnt science.

1. Solar panels and wind CAN'T supply base load power without massive arrays of batteries which aren't green.

We actually do have some nuclear industry here but it would take time to ramp it up to what is required for commercial power.

Australia has great locations for green base load power like tidal or geothermal but they are miles away from anyone.

Finally there are almost no scientists who say that humans have no effect on climate change but there is great debate as to the extent, even to the point of whether we are a significant effect. Did you know that the strongest greenhouse gas is water? I thought not faggot.

>Fuck christianty along will all the other religions. Modern civilisation was built because science found a way to tear itself away from medieval religions.

M8 that is patently false. Christianity served as the basis for progress in science, art, philosophy etc. Catholics themselves are responsible for an incredible amount of scientific thought. You are just giving into a meme.

>A secular system encourages the exchange of ideas, without progress getting retarded by religious dogma.

I'm talking about a moral foundation of society. The set of beliefs that society rests on. Secular liberalism is grounded in subjectivity. Its the literal deconstruction of truth through reason. It is the worst possible thing for scence and all modern thought.

i've been saying this for 10 years. i even offered up a program outline to a school teacher friend of mine years ago, just to see what he thought. i never actually got his opinion on it, just a "good luck getting anything positive done in our education system lol

what do we get a decade later? "fuck your parents, cut off your peckers, do whatever you want but please don't be racist"

I hope so m8 but it will be a close-run thing.

What is so good about Lazurus?

Lazarus is looking after QLD interests above all else, especially rural QLD which I'm a big supporter of coming from an agricultural family.

I'm honestly not even trying to act tough, I just think it's cute how you think you're hot shit.

Liberal vs Conservative
