A basic comedy like a Seth Rogen/James Franco joint may be popular, but will have a low score with critics because critics tend to prefer artsy films (particularly dramas). I think this is the case. If you have looked at ratings for The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, that is probably jewish trickery. Or at minimum a bunch of critics feeling the need to say positive things in order to not be accused of being racist (or being liberal, and therefore agreeing with the agenda the show overtly pushes).

I've been watching it. It's not bad. I'm also old enough to remember watching the original Roots when it was released in 1977. They had noting new to add, just another remake.
It had more relevance in '77. The Civil Rights victories of the 60's were still fresh in everybody's minds and blacks were just starting to feel it's full effects. Forty years later it's not going to have the same impact.
That being said, I find it "interesting" they decided to make him such a devout Muslim. Libs love Muslims so I'm sure they couldn't help but portray them as victims. The main character is an uneducated slave, so even if he really existed how much would they know about him other than records of Bills of Sale, a ship's manifest, or 200 year old stories passed down through his family. How accurate would a 200 year old story be?
It's a work of fiction based on historical events. Hailey filled in the gaps with his imagination because nobody really knows how his family got here. For the remake they rewrote it again.
