It's more to do with the fact that men don't try and kill themselves in retarded ways like women do by slashing their wrists, overdosing etc. They tend to lean more towards hanging, shooting, jumping off shit etc. so their attempts are more often leathal. They believe that the only reason men kill themselves is because men won't talk about their problems like women do. They call it "toxic masculinity".
But any man who has considered suicide and talked about will tell you that it doesn't actually help. there is nothing toxic about masculinity. Men who kill themselves kill themselves because their lives are awful, and it's usually awful because of very real problems, personal or financial in nature.
And talking about those issues doesn't help. Talking about how you feel isn't going to get you a job, it isn't going to stop your wife divorcing you or taking your kids. It's not an chemical imbalance or a mental issue, its a real issues.

Instead of helping them they blame their masculinity. A woman would never kill themselves over unemployed. Men often do.
