I don't know if it can be ever truthfully classified a "disorder" but scientists should find the balls to come out and state it's not a biologically normal nor optimal state to be in.
The simple test if a condition is benign or ultimately catastrophic is always: if x affects all the population, will that population continue?
Try it: If everyone has or develops "terminal childhood leukemia" (x) will there be a species in 200 years? No.
Of course, we could take drastic steps and prolong life of the afflicted to the minimal age for successful progenation. Likewise if (x) is total homosexuality, would the species survive? No. Though, we could introduce forced breeding etc but as above this is not a normal or optimal existence for humans.
