I've seen quite a few that large, but only when fishing out in the Everglades. Never out in a developed area.
That must've been some course built right up along side the glades.
The funny part about them is they will run away from you as fast as they can when they are out in the wild. they're giant pussies (unless it's nesting season and you are unlucky enough to come by a nest where the female's guarding her clutch of eggs.
