Incredibly rare. Street "gangs" will just jump a man to death for being on the wrong street (no shooting involved,) and real gangs treat bullets as if they cost ten thousand dollars each. Most homicides are just rage beatings that went further than the victim could handle.

There likely is a problem with definitions. Each of those countries may not define 'mass shooting' the same, assuming self reporting.
But, no, mass shooting do not happen every day in the US. Not even close.

I live in Chicago IL and I can you tell the VAST majority of homicides in this city are gang shootings. occasionally some boon gives her 13 year old daughter a knife to go stab to death some other 13 year old girl (actually happened), but more often than not its a gang shooting.

The US population is 320,000,000. ~500(rough guess based on a google search) killed each year in the US from mass shootings comes out to 0.01/1,000,000.
Norway's population is 5,000,000. 77 people killed in one incident in 2011. 77/5,000,000=0.154/1,000,000.
In short, it's one really bad incident skewing the results towards Norway. If you did the same thing for 2015 France you'd probably get similar results.
