LOL /pol/ B.T.F.O.

Absolutely amazing article! How can you fools not support common sense gun legislation. It's 2016 after all, look at our European friends for example! Sad!

>4. “Well, the Second Amendment says……” – Gun rights activists love to cite the Second Amendment which actually says, “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Now there’s a lot of debate about what it actually means. Some people think it pertains to individual gun ownership. Others think it refers to people in a militia. Still, either way, asking the Founding Fathers their opinion of contemporary American gun culture would be like asking Pope Francis on what he thinks about NFL football (then again he probably knows it’s not “football” as he knows it but not much else).
>Besides, we all know that some of the Founding Fathers also thought slavery was an economic necessity and they weren’t right about that. So maybe relying on them for gun issues isn’t the best idea.

Wake up, America.

Whoever wrote that article is a moron. And so are you.

When they say militia, they mean the militia. When they say the people, they mean the people.

If you want to live in a place where only the cops have guns, get yourself thrown in prison.

It'll be really safe for you in there, just like you want.

>implying everyone in my neighborhood hasn't already gotten rid of their guns due to petition and city council meetings.
Seems pretty safe here, to be honest. In fact, I looked up crime statistics for my portion of the city and there was ONE robbery... three years ago.

Stop living in denial.

Federals #46. Read it. The militia is every able bodied person, and the right to keep and bare arms is an individual right, as it is necessary for individuals to own firearms to overthrow a government as prescribed in the declaration of independence.

Now to discredit the article's entire argument: Deaths are deaths, what difference does the means make? Would you rather they be stabbed to death?

You are literally the only person in this thread in absolute denial.

>“Well, the Second Amendment says……” – Gun rights activists love to cite the Second Amendment

American citizens love to cite the second amendment because it's there for a reason. The founding fathers didn't put it in for the bants, they did it because it's necessary.

The fact of the matter is that Americans have the undeniable right to own guns. If there are problems with the gun situation, you don't take their rights away, you make other actions that solve the problem.

>Besides, we all know that some of the Founding Fathers also thought slavery was an economic necessity and they weren’t right about that. So maybe relying on them for gun issues isn’t the best idea.

You don't get to pick and chose which amendments you follow.
