Actually it will happen differently in the west.
Firstly there will be white flight, and then secondly in the white enclaves, violent and uncivilised types will be made to feel unwelcome. Outsiders interference will be resisted, people will just ignore what central government says. Walled and gated communities, private security, private land, local community associations.

Probably not, from an American perspective at least. For all the Oathkeeper bullshit that gets thrown around, the military and police force will basically follow through with any order they receive. Anybody who works for a living will be more concerned with preserving their wealth and comfort and will either capitulate or run away like the Jews during Hitler's time in office. A small percentage of us are rearing for a fight but it isn't enough to compete with the technology that the federal government has at its disposal.
Any uprising would be inspired by foreign intrusion and/or all out world war.
Authoritarianism and a global government are inevitable according to human nature, what matters is whether the oncoming authoritarian government is right wing or left wing.A left wing global government is unsustainable so even if it were established the right wing would quickly take the reigns.
Long story short, the immediate future is grim but the far future is beyond our wildest dreams. Life finds a way.

There have been over 7,000 SAFE Act arrests famalam, and we didn't invade Syria because Putin and Assad held their respective poker faces. A few military higher-ups were opposed to it but Obama never made the call in the first place.
