This type of apologizing is unhealthy. Nobody should go dwell on something their country did in the past unless they personally had something to with it. Saying sorry for some shit you didn't do is kinda pointless, and doesn't make much sense. Also this mentality of country guilt is part of what makes men into beta nu-males. Just acknowledge what happened, and learn from it yourself, you don't need to apologize for shit. Most people aren't even really that sorry anyways and just say shit like that to make themselves feel good and look pious to others. Don't be one of those feel good = do good fags.

I participated in my town's local parade. It's not much since I live in a small rural town, but it was the least I could do to honor those that gave their lives for our country. Other than that I paid tribute to my grandfathers, both of which served in the military. One was navy and the other was army. Sadly they passed away a few years ago and all I have to remember them are the flags above my family's fireplace.
