Because torturing anyone is an evil act regardless of what the reasons are. Also, torture barely works and it makes us look just as bad as terrorists.
However, I understand there are situations where torture does work, nonetheless, a time-bomb scenario happens extremely rarely and once you go down the path of legalizing torture, the government will push for more and more torture, it's a slippery slope. We have seen that negotiation and spying works much better than torture.

Honestly, it annoys me that people parrot "Israel is our greatest ally" and act like pussies when Muslims are concerned. A lot of Israel's tactics regarding Muslims should be used in the west.
