In the United States it's very common for people to work multiple part time jobs as long as the interests don't conflict (like McDonald's and Burger King or Best Buy and Sears, for example). Minimum wage jobs where payroll is monitored like a hawk prefers hiring part time workers. Houses today are pieces of shit. My house was built in 1959 and my friends was just built.
My house was built by professionals and not by a team of mexicans that a contractor picked up at home depot.
My friend's house looks nice, but I can almost guarantee mine despite being 50 years older, will be in better shape in 20 years than his will be with similar upkeep.
