I doubt it, Kurds are doing a bit of offensive on multiple fronts

1: West of Northern Alleppo with the moderate beheaders

2: East side of the river, moving towards south, perhaps later on towards Manbij

3: A bit towards Raqqua

4: Southeast of Mosul, they captured a couple of villages, I believe they are trying to secure the river.

probably a retrofit, or a overhaul. Some parts sustain allot of wear and probably have to be replaced if a plane exceeds a number of flight hours (think like the regular service for your car every couple of thousands of km). And allot of this things you cannot axess without removing the shell of the plane.
But then again i'm no expert on planes, and im probably talking nonsence.

>The military is facing this shortfall because it did not forecast needing this many weapons three or more years ago when it made its budget projections. At the time, no U.S. forces were in Iraq and the military was preparing to withdraw from Afghanistan. But that didn’t happen; thousands of American forces remain in Afghanistan and thousands more have gone back to Iraq to train and advise the Iraqi military. Brown also pointed out that allies, in many cases, are dropping American-made, guided smart bombs.
The Nobel peace prize awarded president really made a good job in keeping peace. The planet is so peaceful that they need to increase the production of bombs.

>Operational problems have been experienced and some have caused fleet-wide groundings. Critically, pilots have experienced a decreased mental status, including losing consciousness. There were reports of instances of pilots found to have a decreased level of alertness or memory loss after landing.[209] F-22 pilots have experienced lingering respiratory problems and a chronic cough; other symptoms include irritability, emotional lability and neurological changes.[209] A number of possible causes were investigated, including possible exposure to noxious chemical agents from the respiratory tubing, pressure suit malfunction, side effects from oxygen delivery at greater-than-atmospheric concentrations, and oxygen supply disruptions. Other problems include minor mechanical problems and navigational software failures.[210] The fleet was grounded for four months in 2011 before resuming flight, but reports of oxygen issues persisted

F-35 doesent even have thrust vectoring, f22 has it.

F-35 is a meme plane, that was doomed from the start. The USA sunk ungodly amount of money to get something half decent out of it. They even considered to just build more f22's rather than continue the f35 development.

>>
>>75582028
Thrust vectoring is a meme

F-35's development has only cost $55 billion
The procurement which building 2500 airframes including engines costs $350 billion in total.
The F-35 was made to replace the F-16, F/A-18C/D and AV-8B, which are all starting to age, and cost a lot to upgrade

Studies has been done that shows that keeping these in service until 2065 would cost $3 trillion more than the entire proposed budget of the F-35(operational costs until 2065 with inflation calculated+R&D+Procurement=$1.5 trillion)

It's a success in my book, performing better than the planes it's supposed to replace(especially Harrier) with superior range, payload, speed(internal weapons bay doesn't produce parasitic drag) and all essential targeting systems integrated internally

Oh, and if course: stealth and EW

I agree on the success, from the replacing old planes point of view.
Also things like stealth has to be upgreated regulary, due to the development of new technologies (just like tank armour)

It's not that much of an issue on the military world

Anything has to be upgraded.
B-52's don't fly with the same electronics from the 50's

It's still likely to remain efficient against Russian and Chinese radars for years to come. Of course stealth is not invisible, but it surely makes you really hard to detect at long range. This allows you to get closer to enemies and detect them without them being able to detect you. It's not a Lockheed Martin-only thing. It's a part if the US doctrine now

lets just agree to disagree, and stop derailing this thread. As the saying goes, "paper can whitstand anything" and we will not know witch plane is better until they fight eachother. The whole theme of our conversation is irrelevant, since RuAF and USAF dont bomb eachother but they bomb ISIS (RuAF also bombs free meme army). And there is high probability the planes we talk about wont fight eachother.

Russian radars have been able to detect B-2s for years now. B-1s and B-52s are extremely easy to detect then. In fact, one the B-1B had finished production the USAF already concluded that it couldn't penetrate Soviet Air Defenses and that was 30 years ago.

Some say they got them via Americunts others via Pakistani Nuclear program.

But it's probably both.

>Russian radars have been able to detect B-2s for years now.

I have a hard time believing that
B-2's flying wing shape, passive frequency selective surface-RAM and its sheer size makes it extremely difficult to detect even for VHF and UHF radars.

I find no articles indicating this either

I agree on B-1's and B-52's, but B-1' have only been used for CAS and strike in recent years, and B-52 is planned to be used as a missile truck for F-35's

Lucky 7.

I sure hope that the Roaches wont show up. If they do I will try to be nice to them and buy them icescream.

Also, what will happen in the Future?
I mean the Kurds are gaining a lot of ground in Iraq and Syria. They are overstepping their boundaries. Now, it is hard to care because they are fighting ISIS but what happens after ISIS is done. Will the Kurds move back or will they try to keep their ground.

As for Iraq, the Iraqi Army is showing that they are capable to fight ISIS. First Falluhjah then maybe other pockets of resistance to then move up to either the highway between syria and Iraq or move up to Northern Iraq. If they choose the latter it would mean their left flank is open but also they would limit the Kurdish expansion.

As for Syria. Yes Syria is winning batles. It cant focus all his energy on ISIS due to the Rebels. With the cease-fire a lot of small pockets remained quiet but it would be a tough nut to crack the remaining extremist rebel groups.

What if The Kurds manage to capture large cities. Would they hold it, or later give it back to the Syrian Goverment. What is the plan for that scenario? What is the Kurdish plan ?

I invite other anons to answer this as well.

War is like a drug. It is violent and fast and before you know it is over. People are still used to the war and find it hard to go back to living normal. PANG, Just like that and a war is over, so it seems. With ISIS loosing more and more ground, their days are numbered and which day we are closing in to their defeat. But what will happen after they are gone, Will a new war/conflict emerge from the ashes from the previous war?

Also, Nice digits youtself mate

Systems like the 9N6E (used in the S-400 complex) have enough computing power and are so acutely turned up that they will pick up on the B-2. I don't have any papers on hand but there are Russian publications out there on the system if you want to go look for them.

Wait, you mean 39N6E? Can't find any called 9N6E
That's a UHF band radar
These bands should have higher probability of identifying VLO aircrafts like F-35 longer out, but B-2 is much more sophisticated than that. It has been designed in mind to absorb radar waves from the VHF and UHF bands as well

From what I can find, 39N6E has a maximum detection range( of targets with an RCS of 0.3 m^2 flying at 60km) of 44km

Bear in mind B-2's RCS might be lower than even 0.0001m^2, so I doubt this radar would be able to even see anything like a B-2 before they have a HARM up their ass
>>
so guys, is ISIS done for good or will they be left with a piece of land?
>>
>>75587128

That sounds too much for something like a B-2

Yes and no. Neither of us can say if it can lock on or not at that range because we aren't end users of the S-400. The MiG-31 will be able to intercept the B-2 early, but a MiG-31 isn't even needed with an S-400 because the B-2 will still be downed a few hundred kilograms before the B-2 can neutralize the SAM threat.
>>75587650
No I meant the 92N6E. Which can detect ballistic projectiles (much harder to detect than any operational bomber) from a 400km radius and a 30 km altitude.

The B-2 doesn't carry HARMs either. And the S-400 may filter out noise quite well too.
>>
>>75588841

You miss the point
Radar background noise is unavoidable
You might be able to reduce it, but it's technically impossible to make it noise free

The B-2's RCS will not be obsolete either. It will still appear as very small on the radars.

And there's this thing called MALD's which can completely fool radars

A spam of these would be a nightmare

And as the Finn said, it completely depends on the situation. SAM's are no silver bullet against aircrafts.

And sure, B-2 got no HARM's, but it would never go alone in such situation for a SEAD operation

It is possible to filter our noise and add it too. As time goes on and technology evolves further, the B-2 will become more and more visible on smaller radars. Only systems capable of mass launching MALDs to fool a dedicated SAM battery are cargo aircraft and they are not very survivable at all. The only aircraft that would be able to escort the B-2 under current USAF doctrine is the F-22 and the F-22 was not made for a SEAD role whatsoever. Military planners can't take any claims with a grain of salt, otherwise they may end up explaining to their superiors why they lost all their assets.
