Interesting you mention wage slavery though, since the Industrial revolution and wage labor is in many ways the root of all the social and sexual dysfunction that's built up to what we have now. the Internet is just an extreme manifestation of industrial society that speeds up the degeneration process to new highs
I think parenting plays a role, specifically the Boomer career-ism obsession.
The parents of our generation told us that all that matters is school and work, not family. We weren't even taught how to be parents and in fact encouraged NOT to, and wait until endless amounts of degrees and money and material success.
Meanwhile porn , the media etc can have a heavier influence during all these years. People used to mature and be expected to marry younger. It was as important as getting a job, and not to mention also necessary for survival and care in old age (with children). now technology, corporations, and the state are replacing these needs

Sex became a thrill instead of a purpose, and inside that became a choice, like deciding what you want for dinner. Women won't go for the light salad if they can have prime sausage dinner.
