Funk isn't music. Aside from southern/center-western Brazil, there hasn't been any Brazilian music since the communists killed MPB and Bossa Nova and started promoting favela """culture""". To think we had the best quality music from the 70's until early 90's.

No, it's actually a thing. It's a crime what they did to our culture and it's interesting to see the exact same thing happening in the US and Europe today. Millenials probably won't remember, but MPB/Bossa Nova used to be super popular in the US and throughout Europe, although it's still popular in Japan today. Defunct in Brazil.
