I'm not against the idea of keeping illegals out but the wall seems like it's just not going to work. Coupled with the cost associated with building a wall that big. They'll just tunnel under it like they do in Israel. They always find a way. Seems like the money would be better spent on manpower to patrol the border. Put GPS tracking devices in illegals detained and if they keep coming back, jail or execute them as deterrent.

I'm not saying it's easy, but the cartels have already kidnapped one (at least?) engineer and forced him to build a tunnel. These guys have money and equipment. All the rats that end up in the USA are just pawns in a larger scheme, it's an invasion force. Now that I think about it, wouldn't it be an even better idea to just invade Mexico?

Yeah we thought that too at first. Turned out both parties disagreed with us. Couple of states tried to do it themselves, feds stopped them. Tried to sue the fed govt to enforce its own immigration laws, courts denied it. The mexican army is helping the drug cartels, there have been battles between the mexican army and the border patrol and ranchers 20+ miles inside the US border.
