I saw a bumper sticker today that said "Save Freedom. Stop Hillary."
Are Americans in 2016 more concerned with preventing someone from being sworn into office than a particular candidate actually winning?
>>
>>75239062
yes, because all of your politicians are corrupt, fat fucks/cucks
>>
Not just in the US, we got a president who campaigned without positions. His sole argument was, Iam not the other candidate.

40% of his voters saw it the same. Politics are death, we have entered the time of Radical anti populism.
>>
The way I see it, none of the candidates are any good. Apparently they're so bad in fact, that people can't endorse any one of them. It's just Stop Hillary or Stop Trump.

Quiet down, Austria. I want to hear from some of my countrymen on this.
>>
well, i can say that, from my perspective, the only reason i'm voting trump is because rand paul got blown the fuck out. i disagree with trump, clinton and especially sanders, on most issues, so this election cycle morphed into sending a message rather than voting for the candidate i'd like to see represent our country.
>>
>>75239299
We've got it worse. Trudeau just got in because "muh son" and the fact that he wasn't Harper. His stylish hair helped with the women vote too.
>>
>>75239062
We did that here too

like a singapoor chink could tell me anything on politics
>>

It seems like the politics in this country will shift radically in one direction or the other based on the outcome of this next election. There are no moderate candidates anymore. Just people carrying out old dynasty agendas or something untested and new emerging from the ashes of crumbling traditional party ideals. New president is going to take this country in a wild, experimental direction I think. It has me on edge a little.
>>
>>75239062
Have you not been paying attention to politics for the past few years? It's no longer about making yourself out to be great, it's about making your enemies out to be the literal fucking devil. You get Democrats who would rather leave the entire country just because someone that they think is a meanie wins, and you have Republicans who would rather let the entire country's economy implode overnight than let a bill pass that the Democrats like. It's US vs. THEM, with US being good and wholesome and perfect and THEM being evil and degenerate and hateful. Welcome to the kindergarten playground that is recent U.S. politics.
>>
>>75239062
That's literally the whole process right now. It depends on what each American considers more dangerous.

Never looked at it like this, kind of understand canadian butthurt now.
>>
>>75239775
That's too bad. I don't want to see a dramatic alteration of our politics in favor of fascism or socialism basically. This never turns out well for a country or their foreign policy. Other nations should probably be concerned for what's brewing here too, because it's going to affect more than just us.
>>
>>75239062
When the politician in question is as destructive and unaccountable as Hillary? Yes.
>>
>>75240159
She has too much political baggage to be president I think, and she's been far less than honest with the public. Trump doesn't have the experience though, he's not the consummate politician, but maybe that's also why he seems to have a more devoted following.
>>
>>75240334
Obama was less qualified than Trump is.
>>
>>75240519
Obama was a senator with political experience. Drumpf was a reality tv star.
Only a Republican could say Obama was less qualified...
>>
>>75240519
I just hope he has a real plan for this country, and isn't just trying to sell people on a vague idea with no real concepts for execution in place as if he's trying out some strange new business venture.

That image is so spooky. Imagine being in the cold depths of space and seeing your beloved terra annihilated by a comet. No way to return, no way to resupply. You'd be the last of your kind left to watch the fragments drift as you slowly run out of oxygen and succumb to the inevitable.

It would be better to have been on earth.

i can see where you're coming from. but, having said that, i'm not sure that trump is really as wild and experimental as the alt-right wants you to believe. his politically incorrect nature makes him appear like he is, which is the only reason i'm remotely drawn to him. he's flip flopped on many issues, a good example is the iraq war. i've never agreed with this war and will argue, until the day i die, that current terror cells in the ME are nothing more than reactionary mudslimes responding to american action in the region. as ron paul would put it, blowback. in 2002 and 2003, trump was fine with the war.

he's also in favor of amnesty. something that the average american probably wouldn't believe, because of his insistence to build the wall. it should be noted that, on this example, i happen to bend party lines and agree with him, but my bias is that i live near the border and have been around mexican immigrants my entire life. most of them are good people, too, but the cold hard fact is that they're not all good, and i really do believe that if the only law they broke was immigrating here illegally and they've already established a family and have a strong worth ethic, they should be able to make amends and enjoy the same benefits an american citizen does. his stance is more moderate than the media and the progressive left want you to believe it is.

also, despite his NRA endorsement, trump is in favor of the assault rifle ban, something i'll never get behind, personally.

all that said, i'm getting real sick and tired of this politically correct bullshit. i live near the border and if i hear one more liberal from the midwest tell me that stopping illegal immigration isn't a real concern and it's "racist" i'm going to blow a fucking gasket. i live near tent city so i know, first hand, what dangerous illegals are capable of. sanders, to me, is the radical candidate in this election.

i'm not a libertarian. i absolutely despise the idea of open borders. although i'm against having a welfare state, i'm also against the libertarian view of the federal government, especially the military. i strongly believe in a firm national defense, but, that said, there's a problem when the defense industry becomes something that is no longer defending the lives of americans and american interests abroad, which is what we've seen in recent.

that said - taxes have gone too far, and progressives have been really pushing the envelope on exactly what they want to tax to fund their ideal welfare state. see the carbon tax.

i do agree with quite a few libertarian viewpoints and believe the freer the market, the freer the people. a system which rewards people based on their merits is the only way to truly progress in society as it truly incentives people achieving greatness, so they may enjoy the fruits of their labor. i have no problems with someone who is more qualified and has a more profitable skill set enjoying a more lavish lifestyle than myself. i don't wish to bring them down.

I've always liked that picture. It's such a worst case scenario. Imagine what this guy is thinking as his oxygen is running out, having just witnessed the annihilation of humankind, the entire world. Silver lining though: He managed to outlive them all. I'd say it's a compelling case for the colonization of other worlds.
>>
>>75240886
I think he tries to appeal to core conservative values, but he's a newcomer to politics having leaped to favor over the remains of a political party that basically just disintegrated. I don't know what the GOP stands for anymore. Does anyone?
>>
>>75241216
we saw this starting to happen last election, after romney was the nominee. one of the biggest issues of the previous two elections was healthcare. the current narrative is that the right is against reform and the left is for it. romney, of course, helped reform the health care system in massachusetts, bucking the trend of republicans being against it.

i've always been against the way obama handled the ACA because of the federal contracts awarded. federal contracts should not be going to foreign companies, especially when one contract goes to a company that was under investigation for defrauding the UK and one contract when to a company that has personal ties to the obama family. that was just the icing on the cake, though, as federal contracts going to a foreign company is enough fuel for me to be utterly opposed to the idea.

Yeah because this is something new in politics... Found the summerfag

Ask any American who they think should be president ... out of any eligible citizen. That's right, nobody has any idea.

If not Hillary, then Trump. If not Trump, then Bernie. If not Bernie than Jeb. If not Jeb, then who knows?

If it ever mattered, the US would not exist. But we do exist. Everything runs. The economy survives.

The things that make America run are not elected officials.
