Will 4chan ever get shut down because it's too "politically incorrect?"

You know people hate the fact that we can post what we want, whether it's about blacks, women, trans, gay, Muslims, or even just liberals in general.

Granted, this is hardly the only place these discussions happen, but 4chan, and /pol/ to a lesser extent, have some influence on the rest of the internet.
>>
I have a feeling that eventually the interface as we know it will get severely neutered and turned into a massive hugbox. It's already starting.

It'll get to the point where you'll go to jail for calling someone a name or criticizing anyone other than straight white males.

Internet*

Fucking autocorrect.
>>
If 4chan was going to get shut down for that it would have happened 10 years ago.
>>
>>75232624
All it's going to take is a very prominent cyberbullying case that somehow leads back to here and that'll be it.

Sure, there have been stories about teens killing themselves because of /b/, but at some point, one of the stories will be the tipping point.
>>
>>75232759
Maybe, but remember that the internet back then wasn't filled with as many normies as it is now. People would handle banter, namecalling, different opinions, and trolling.

These fucks nowadays can't. The world nowadays looks down upon the shit we do so much more than it used to.
>>
>>75232881
They can look down as much as they want. They can push us down no further. We will be forever lurking in the depths with gaping maws waiting for one of them to lose their footing.

/pol/ will be re-instituted within a day once they realize it's more a ghetto than a platform.
>>
We would just pop up somewhere else. It's a game of whack-a-mole and we can't lose.
>>
4chan doesn't have total freedom
>>
>>75233293
Matter of fact, it's good when it happens.

During the initial GamerGate cucking from moot and /pol/ mods a ton of /pol/lacks went to reddit and 8ch*n and voat and TRS and I'm sure other websites. Then when moot spammed cuckporn all over /pol/ another wave left.

If America fails in our battle for free speech, the world is doomed.
>>
>>75233361
This. It's a trick, an illusion of freedom, just like the rest of the internet. They only allow us freedom to be distracted, contained, and entertained, thus they don't even need to censor the truth. Brave New World.

Yes, and the sooner, the better. I hope the new Clinton administration chasws down and destroys all the hateful, evil nests where white fucking men still act like they're entitled to everything.
>>
>>75233385

notice that whenever a phenomenon starts to get big (gamergate, evalion), it gets canned by the mods. and the population is manipulated into believing these things are lame or shilling.

anything that can possibly garner too much popular support gets quelled. nobody gives a shit if people talk about fringe topics like david duke or whatever because they don't get popular support, but when someone like evalion quickly gets tons of exposure it becomes a problem.
>>
>>75233633
Yes, people who act entitled undeservedly are truly terrible.
>>
>>75232418
hiroshima nagasaki already ignored Japan about censorship, he'll keep going until somebody imprisons him
>>
>>75232418
Nope.
4chins will eventually shut off political correctness if things will keep happening at the usual rate.

I've been noticing as our national borders disintegrate our personal borders disintegrate also.

Borders should filter individuals much like morals should filter thoughts and actions.

The other day, I was ordering food to take away at a restaurant, my gf was sitting down and I was at the counter. A dumpy, unattractive woman with dyed red hair was in line behind me, after I place my order she taps me on the shoulder. I turn around and she gets face to face with me, standing uncomfortably close, and leans in.
>"If you and your girl want to have naughty fun tonight, I go both ways."

And she grabs and squeezes my dick through my pants.

Now my girl is Ukrainian/Russian and she has only been here for 2-3 years. We met when I was working and travelling in Europe and fell madly in love, she wanted me to live there I wanted her to live here, in the end she leaned my way because of how terrible and unsafe the situation had gotten around us there. She's quite well read, works in finance, has a PhD in mathematics, beautiful, 5'10, thin, blonde, what you would expect when I say russian/european blonde. She notices this whale talk to me and grab my dick and she begins to visibly rage. I have never seen her particularly angry and we are both laid back and don't waste time arguing, but while I found this strange ugly woman touching me odd and a little invasive, she felt like a serious crime had been committed.

It was a pretty awkward 20-30 minute period as I have to hold her back and the fat chick is subdued by the manager until the police arrive and we need to go through all that bullshit.

It made me think. If I was alone, I probably would've just laughed it off and collected my food and walked out.

In 2016, unless you make a big fuss, here in Australia, if a woman puts hands on a man, it's normal, accepted, and ignored.

I genuinely feel sorry for women, because when the rubber band on feminism snaps back, a lot of innocent girls are going to face unpleasant outcomes.

I'm just kinda waiting for it.

Internet regulation efforts are always so fucking pathetic though. Politicians seem to literally believe it's just a series of tubes. A good deal of our laws regarding IT have already moved well into Imaginationland.
>>
>>75232418
I don't think so. Putting up such an internet censorship would require unprecedented cooperation between governments, and that's not happening. Besides, they cannot even permanently remove things they agree on, like child porn.

Although national efforts to institute internet censorship are entirely possible - so 4chan won't be shut down, but some of us may be unable to access it.
>>
>>75234638
On the bright side, it won't be long before they have to find a way to block decentralized networking.

I couldn't tell you how that is supposed to work, but I can tell you that there will be pressure on politicians to crack down on private networking and VLANs.

And I don't know how to feel about that...
>>
>>75235138
>block
>decentralized networking
Have fun destroying the internet, literally.

Like I said, I don't know how that's supposed to work.

But they will use the excuse that terrorists and right-wing extremist white people can communicate outside the jurisdiction of government surveillance, with encryption, so it must be stopped at all costs.

I know we will hear this nonsense because I know the people are dumb enough to root for it.

And while we're continually asking, "wut the shit?!" the politicians will give them a big thumbs up and pass legislation, whatever Imaginationland shit that will be.
