Is Obama (b. 1961) a Boomer or a Gen Xer?

>Baby boomers are people born during the demographic post–World War II baby boom approximately between the years 1946 and 1964. This includes people who are between 52 and 70 years old in 2016.

>Generation X, commonly abbreviated to Gen X, is the generation born after the Western Post–World War II baby boom. Most demographers and commentators use birth dates ranging from the early 1960s to the early 1980s.

Gen Xer.

They're generally sell outs to their ideas.
>>
Let's be honest: has there ever been ANYONE born in the early 60s who calls themselves a Boomer? Everyone I know from that time says they're Gen X, despite the media trying to hammer it into our heads that Boomers = 46-64

Late Boomer. Gen X was 1965 - 1981.
>>

Boomer

I've actually only heard people born 1970 to 1985 call themselves gen Xers

61 is too early to be gen X cause you'd have already reached middle age by the time Kurt Cobain died

The later Boomers (1957-1964) are sort of regarded as their own mini-generation compared to the '45-56 Boomers. "Generation Jones" is sometimes the term.

But no; they definitely aren't "Gen-X."

People born in the early '80s - early '90s generally don't like to be referred to as Millennials either. Doesn't matter as that's still the demographic they fall under. Keep in mind a generation is about 20 years in length, give or take.

age demographics are 20 year increments of time thats stop at 0. the boomers tried to absorb gen x for a while for political reasons.which is why the common misconception that the placement for the end and start of gen x is offset.

But that's all the millennials there are.

People born from 1995-2010 are "Gen Z", post-millennials.

Really? 84-85 seems a bit too late for Gen x, but I guess since they're over 30 now, they might be able to squeeze themselves into that definition.

Maybe if you're looking at it from a purely statistical manner rather than a cultural one. People born in the 60s have more in common with people born in the 50s than they do with people born in the 70s
>>
>>75234412
I mean, since they used fax machines and pagers in high school, unlike the millennials born after '87, and since over 30 means you're old and irrelevant and "over the moon", I guess they could cram themselves as being the last of Gen X
>>
>>75234412
Age 20 in 2005 seems too old to be a millennial as they were already young adults before Facebook and YouTube took off
>>
>>75231810
Technically he's a boomer. But the worst boomers are the older ones born from 1946-1956
>>
Well boomers make everything worse and ruin Everything... and Obama made Everything worse and ruined everything...
>>
>>75234650
I know this is all arbitrary as shit but Mark Zuckerberg (b. 1984) seems to call himself a millennial.

The name of the generation came from the oldest, born in 1982, graduating in 2000 - the turn of the MILLENNIum, but again, everyone has their own definitions.
>>
>>75234199
From what I've seen, the Millennials are 1982 - 2001 (19 years), mirroring the Baby Boomers (1945 - 1964; also 19 years). They were even referred to as "Echo Boomers" early on due to the similarity in size as well as largely being their children. The Zeds meanwhile were the kids born from 2002 - the current year.

Boomers just played the hand they were dealt which was a very good one
