Well, I don't see much evidence that the German reforms have been bad for the German people. Yes, wages may have stagnated, but at the same time Germany has the lowest cost of living in Western Europe. As you see in pic related, German purchasing power is huge. Then look at the unemployment rate, which is ~10% in France and ~5% in Germany. I doubt that extra 5% in France is too satisfied with French policies.
