It seems like capitalism is pretty much the only way to distribute the economic planning that works. But right now we're in an era of "financial capitalism".
At some point it can actually become an impediment to the free market. Capital shouldn't be the only factor. There should be limits to how much wealth and power the very few can accumulate just because they happen to have capital. Work, talent and productive investment should matter too (among other things). People should have a reasonable way to build up some of their own capital. Marx was right that there was no limit to the exploitation of workers (because they lack economic freedom). But this is fixable. Workers just don't have to be treated as commodities. Worker protection is all that people really needed, not a socialist revolution.
/pol needs to stop being so triggered by the idea of REGULATING capitalism. Just because right now the governments really suck at it I guess. They are very corrupt. It's all corporatism.

Sounds pretty great to me desu!
It may lead to redundancy and less overall productivity (given the same total capital), but who cares? Employment is low and most of the work isn't even productive (make work created by the government). Having more means of production overall with authority over them distributed can be better than using the little few we have more efficiently (to the extent there is even demand for them since people are getting poorer and poorer).
But the social aspects would be even more significant I'd say.
We're getting to a point where no one is even going to own a home. Let along any real mean of production. Actually most people are going to have debts overall. That's worse than no property.
I want the reverse...
