>Fmr. McDonald's USA CEO: $35K Robots Cheaper Than Hiring at $15 Per Hour

>As fast-food workers across the country vie for $15 per hour wages, many business owners have already begun to take humans out of the picture.

Wouldn't a shift towards robots be good for America? It would cut out job opportunities for illegal aliens and lazy blacks while creating technician jobs that pay decently. Fast food restaurants that employ people for customer service would have to push for higher quality in order to provide a reason for continued patronage.

>>
>>75166363
So what? How is this a bad thing? This has been happening since the dawn of mankind. Technology always eliminates jobs, and that's a good thing. Should we have never invented shovels or the bulldozers so that we could hire hundreds of diggers to dig with their hands? Should we ban those inventions now? It'll create jobs!

Never knew /pol/ was so anti-technology.

>>
>>75168764
If it displaces blacks and immigrants then yes we should push it even more. By the time automation hits higher up the food chain all the no white will move out and the start of basic income is only taken by whites. I fully expect blacks and immigrants to riot and become full on luddites when the robots take their shitty jobs.

It's only a gain when the jobs are eliminated naturally. Forcing expensive robots to do retard jobs is not helpful.
>>
Let's do some maths, shall we ?

15$/hour + general costs of employment... let's say 25$/hour.

40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year : 52000$

Robots cost 35000$ but you have to pay maintenance and, let's be generous here, would amount to the cost of the robot PER YEAR. (changing robots every year should take care of maintenance, right ?)

You still win 17000$, you don't have to deal with work hours, you're insured on the robots and they work faster.

The answer ? Stop using human employes like robots. Use them for service, like real restaurant waiters. That's why we already do in France and that's why they don't lose their job to robots.
>>
>>75169328
They can cry all they want but if only the lowest of the low are effected no one will give a shit and with the advance of smartphones with people using them for everything from paying to eventually as drivers licenses no one will carry a wallet with them thus nogs and beans can't rob people for cash either. they will eventually have to just move the fuck out.

also the machines arent lazy shits that spit in your food. it will be much cleaner and more hygenic and will actually make me try a burger or too. I won't eat out oat fast food places solely because the workers are disgustingly unclean.
>>
The average McDonald's is open 16 hours a day every day. A robot can work the entire time they are open, only stopping for maintenance repairs. To cover this time with actual humans at $15/hr would cost over $80,000 a year.

Most of these fast food places will probably become pretty autonomous, with just a handful of staff to handle tasks the robots can't easily do.

The thing is even if machines replace people and universal income is introduced, it leads to more problems.

People will become increasingly indulgent in hedonism and double down on the sort of shit they do now.

People won't work, because whilst *some* new opportunities might open up, they will be increasingly high skilled and go to highly educated, highly motivated people.

And let's face it, that is not most people.

If automation keeps up it will mean having to reskill faster than you can get out of bed in the morning.

It will be like hyperinflation, but instead of getting up and seeing the price of things double, it will be getting up and realizing you've been made redundant and have to rapidly reskill to have a slim shot at earning.

This is dystopia waiting to happen.

Read any of the books in a series called "The Culture". Basic premise is that humans are basically redundant. Everything in their entire civilization is better, more efficiently done by machines. There is no reason to work because basic goods can be produced at a near 0 cost with no human input at all. As a result the entire civilization is full hedonism, but it doesn't matter because focusing on anything but hedonism is basically pointless once everything about your civilization, from manufacturing, to exploration, to governing is done by machines and AIs.

Yeah I went over to the states a few years back and it seemed to be a real hit with people.

Honestly you people don't seem to know your own history. I'd expect people to rally the militia instead of fawn.

good. wages are a socialist wealth redistribution shceme. poor people don't deserve money.
>>
>>75174244

The animal needs to be blessed by a religious figure. The immigrants arent doing the blessing. Most slaughterhouses have a single person bless an entire heard of cattle before Hose B and his 30 cousins come in to do the actual work

I can't wait for automation in restaurants. No more talking to people - especially niggers and spics - and I still get my food (and it will be correct).

I hope it' sooner than later.

Our economy needs to be shaken up, and I'm tired of wondering what Tyrone and Rodriguez are doing to my burger to stick it to "Whitey".

Make fast food great again!
>>
>>75177609
and again Tyrone and Rodriguez will still be making your burger. The robot is taking orders through a touchscreen.

I wish rednecks would understand the situation before bashing it.

Four years ago.

Now a burgerbot is a self-contained unit, can cook specific blends of meat, uses hoppers and a chopper to slice veggies, and only require power and refilling.

They'll be widespread in 5 years or less.

In japan, I could go to a place, order at a maching, gets cooked and pops out of machine. Yes is cheap but quality suffers. Sky's falling hard these days around here

Fuck McDonalds, bring back mom and pop restaurants operated by the owners.

Get an entire filling meal for $8.50 instead of paying for shit burgers at McCorporate.

>>75176349

McDonald's banks so hard they could afford over $15 per hour, the food is just awful but it's fast.

Nearly every McDonalds near my house has a 10 car wait steady for several hours around breakfast, lunch, and dinner times.

It's cheaply made shit food that's well over priced.

The only time I ever eat McDonalds is when I fuck up and don't have time to make myself oatmeal and eggs. Otherwise I find local privately owned restaurants who serve entire meals for $10.00, get toast, giant omelette, fruit and oatmeal which will keep you energized for hard work in the morning.
>>
>>75166551
you can cut my lawn.
also drainage needs to be replaced so I'll give you 15$/h for that too. Should keep you busy a few days at least.

Who will restock and clean the machines? Who will replace their parts and perform maintenance on them? Who will update their programming?

If there was any chance machines could possibly deliver hamburgers cheaper than people, it would have been done already.

Besides, cheezeburgers are literally fucking killing us. Please price them out of existence.

kek nah I was just b8 really, I do not know what people working with that actually earn. I think my neighbourgh is actually doing it, cuz he's half retarded or something, but it's taboo and very very unpolite to ask what people earn here on shitrock, so I can't ask him.

He makes a living though, but not in excess

>>
>>75168974
>No. Artificially increasing the cost of doing something does not do anything for America.

And yet executive pay rises exponentially for marginal performance, Higher pay for golfing CEOs equals additional staff cost for nothing of value in return.

Line cost is justified because it's the labor providing service and ultimately making the profits and increasing the wealth.

Holy fuck that's true. At my university we've had a Turkish dean of engineering for quite a few years. Most of the new faculty are Turkish, which means all the grad students that get TA jobs and assistantships are mostly Turkish. Its pissing me the fuck off.

I would say at least he finally got forced out for doing some shady shit, but he got replaced by a black woman. And of course she was nowhere near as qualified as the other applicants.

The one employee still necessary for a franchise

>Who will replace their parts and perform maintenance on them? Who will update their programming?
A serviceman who works across a bunch of chains, most likely.

>If there was any chance machines could possibly deliver hamburgers cheaper than people, it would have been done already.
They've been working on this for a few years, and a push to double the cost of every worker in a burger place will undoubtedly accelerate their arrival.

>Besides, cheezeburgers are literally fucking killing us. Please price them out of existence.
