before I saw your post. I agree that there's no vast conspiracy. It's a smart group of people who, perhaps due to living on the fringes of western society for so long, oftentimes support ideologies contrary to mainstream society. I know the feeling UK brother. I think at the time most people of European descent felt that regardless of which European peoples were on top it would always be one of us. WW1 saw the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the capitulation of entire swaths of Africa and Asia from one nation to another.
Throughout WW2 I don't think many ever really thought that non-Europeans would pose a threat to our way of life and so the biggest challenge and fight was always with ourselves. Hell, here in the USA it wasn't until the 60s that we abolish racially based immigration laws. Until that time we were a nation of immigrants but almost exclusively European immigrants.
We beat the piss out of each other for half a century and then tore down many of the laws and institutions that had kept us propped up. The results have been disastrous.
